EEG-Based Assessment
EEG (Electroencephalogram) is a test that allows to record the electrical signals (brain waves) from the brain
EEG-based assessment helps to evaluate the brain physiological functioning and cognitive processing.
In order to record the brain's bio-electrical activity, electrodes are to be placed on the top of a person's head so that a special machine - an electroencephalograph, can amplify tiny electrical impulses and send them to a computer for recording.
EEG-based assessment is recommended when the following conditions are suspected:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Learning Disorders (LD), Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Depression and other Mood Disorders, Sleep Disorders, Panic Disorders, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Minimally Conscious State, Malingering, Personality Disorders, and others.
Preparation
Electroencephalography (EEG) is a diagnostic test that measures the electrical activity of the brain. Preparation for an EEG assessment typically involves the following steps:
After Procedure
After the assessment is complete, the electrodes will be removed from the head. The conductive paste/jell will be washed out.
Prpocedure
After the assessment is complete, the electrodes will be removed from the head. The conductive paste/jell will be washed out.
Results/Findings
After the procedure, the recording of the brain bio-electrical activity will be analyzed and interpreted.
